Edward Hunter:

Edward Hunter .. was born on February 19, 1895 to Cora and William Hunter in Elmer Township, Pipestone County. Here he received his schooling and grew to manhood. On June 4, 1917, he married Amanda Zobel. They have farmed all their married life in Elmer Township. Ed passed away at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, on Wednesday, April 15, 1970 at the age of 75 years. He was a member of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, and the I.O.O.F. and had been supervisor of Elmer Township and served overe 30 years on District 19 school board.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda; seven daughters, Gladys, Mrs. Vernon Black of Princeton, Mn.; Mrs. Viola Oakes of Wadena, Mn; Pearl, Mrs. Albert Graphenteen of St. Paul, Mn; Isabelle, Mrs. Warren Jeske of So. St. Paul, Mn; Maxine, Mrs. John Fey of Edgerton, Mn.; Edith, Mrs. Ronald Risch of Milwaukee, Wi; and Shirley, Mrs. Ralph Baer of Lisbon, N.D.; four sons,, Virgil and Duane, both of Pipestone; Elmer of Luverne, Mn. and Gerald of New Brighton, Mn. 45 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ralph Hunter of Pipestone, Mn. and Ray Hunter of Sioux Falls, S.D. and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Amanda Hunter:

Amanda Hunter ....was born on May 19, 1895 to Annie and Fred Zobel of Dysart, Iowa. On June 4, 1917, she married Edward Hunter. They have farmed in Elmer Township all their married life.

Amanda passed away at the Edgebrook Rest Center, Edgerton, Mn. on Tuesday, August 2, 1988 at the age of 93 years.

She was active in the H.H.H. Club, and the Trosky Methodist Ladies' Aid, and the Pipestone/Hatfield Extension Club and the Pipestone Widows Club.

She is survived by her eleven children; seven daughters: Gladys Black, Princeton, Mn; Viola Knott, Atascadaro, Ca.; Pearl Graphenteen, St. Paul, Mn.; Isabelle Jeske, So. St. Paul, Mn.; Maxine Fey, Edgerton, Mn.; Edith Risch, Gainesville, Ga; Shirley Baer, Hillsboro, Or; four sons: Virgil and Duane, both of Pipestone, Mn; Elmer, Luverne, Mn.; and Gerald of Lino Lakes, Mn. 46 grandchildren, 84 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren, one sister, Mina Kuiper, Pipestone Nursing Unit and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, 2 brothers, Ernest and LeRoy Zobel and one sister, Alvina Kuiper.
